Learn to Trust Yourself.

We all let negativity, judgement and self-doubt creep in, but how can we lead with trusting ourselves more often?

A good friend in healthcare sent me a song by the artist Mega about trusting yourself. It was much less about the song (which was amazing) but much more about the message. This friend is someone I admire and love. We both managed healthcare technology clients - selling, implementing and advocating for their systems to work for them. But the reason I have stayed great friends with him is because this person has talent, integrity and compassion.

So why after decades in healthcare IT does this talented, successful friend of mine need to learn to trust himself? For the same reason all of us do. When we started out, we chose what to study, where to work and then we figure out how to be successful. But along the way, we likely compromised. Took the big salary over working with people we really like. Took the big title over the small company that had the mission we were truly passionate about. Took the same industry because we knew it over learning something new. There are hundreds of reasons and I am sure you are reflecting on your choices now.

So, if only for a minute, trust yourself and think where that might take you.

It is never too late to learn to trust yourself. That little voice in your head that tells you to choose the peers you love over the team you don’t know. The choice to resign and risk uncertainty versus staying in an unhealthy work environment. The feeling that you could do something great and be happier instead of taking a traditional path to success.

This blog post is not about selling anything or promoting anything. It is simply here to remind ourselves, that learning to trust ourselves will lead to confidence and positivity. We all need more of that in our lives.

Thanks friend…you know who you are.
